Why PSD thumbnails do not show in Windows
Windows cannot read Photoshop files, and Photoshop does not add thumbnails to File Explorer. So every PSD and PSB shows the same blue icon, on Windows 10 and Windows 11 alike, even with Creative Cloud installed.
Design Previewer adds the missing piece. Install it once and PSD, PSB, PDD and PSDT files show their artwork as thumbnails, with a larger view in the preview pane.

A 600 MB PSB shows its thumbnail as fast as a 2 MB PSD. Only a few kilobytes of the file are read.
