Privacy policy

Plain language, about what this site and the app actually do. Last updated 11 October 2026.

Your design files

Design Previewer builds thumbnails and previews on your own computer. Your files are read where they are and are never uploaded, to us or to anyone else. The app does not change them.

What we collect

  • When you create an account. Your name, your email address and a password, which is stored only as a one-way hash. An account is optional: you can buy and activate without one.
  • When you sign in with Google. Google tells us your name, your email address, whether Google has verified that address, and a number that identifies your Google account, so the same account can sign you in next time. We ask for nothing else: no access to your contacts, files, Gmail or anything in your Google account, and Google never gives us your password.
  • When you buy. Stripe takes the payment and handles your card directly. We receive your name, your email address, the amount paid and Stripe's reference for the payment. We never see your card number.
  • When you activate. The app sends your serial number, the email address you typed, four one-way hashes that identify the computer's hardware, and your Windows version and computer name. That is what ties a licence to one computer. We also keep a record of each activation attempt with its time and IP address, so we can help when a serial is reported as already in use.
  • While the app is installed. From time to time it re-checks its licence with the same details, and looks for a newer version by reading a small file from this site. It sends nothing about what you open or preview.
  • When you open a support ticket. Your name, your email address, what you write and any screenshots you attach. They are kept with the ticket so the conversation can be picked up later, and are seen only by the people who answer it.

Cookies

The site sets two technical cookies: one that keeps you signed in if you have an account, and one that stops other sites from submitting forms in your name. If you arrive through a partner's link, two more remember for 60 days which partner sent you, so they can be credited if you buy. One more holds a random number so that the site can count visitors. There are no advertising cookies.

Counting visitors

The site counts its own visitors so we can see which pages are read and where people come from. For each page view it keeps the page, the site you came from, the kind of device and browser, the country your browser's time zone belongs to, and the random number from the cookie above. It does not keep your IP address, and the number is not tied to your name, your email or your account.

No outside analytics service is used. If that ever changes, this paragraph will say so.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to advertisers. These services process it for us:

  • Stripe. Payment processing, and for the yearly plan the renewal each year. Stripe keeps your card so it can charge it again; we never hold it. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Google. The fonts on this site load from Google, which sees your IP address when they do. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in. See Google's privacy policy.

Your data, your call

Ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will. Deleting a licence record means the serial can no longer be activated again, so we will check that is what you want first.

If what we collect changes in any real way, this page will change with it and the date at the top will move.
