Blender .blend thumbnails in Windows File Explorer
Scenes, models and asset files all look the same in a folder. Design Previewer shows the preview inside each .blend, without opening Blender.

Why .blend files show no thumbnail in Windows
Blender can register its own thumbnails, but only from its preferences on each PC, and installs from a zip, the Microsoft Store or Steam often never do.
Design Previewer reads the preview Blender saves in the file, from Blender 2.5 to Blender 5, compressed or not. Where Blender’s own thumbnails are registered they stay in charge.
Compressed files too
Files saved with compression, old and new, show their preview as well.
Any scene size
Only the opening of the file is read, so a 2 GB scene is as quick as a small one.
